Overview 7–12 Spanish Teacher Mystic Valley Regional Charter School About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School serves more than 1,750 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Student success at MVRCS is built on great teaching, a carefully selected curriculum delivered with fidelity, high expectations, and a foundation in traditional pedagogy. Our graduates consistently excel at the post-secondary level, a reflection of the rigorous preparation they receive during their time here. Students in Grades K–12 follow a dress code, attend 200 instructional days, and benefit from a school day that extends 60 minutes longer than most traditional public schools. These factors enable us to deliver on our mission of providing students with access to a world-class education. Position Overview The Spanish Teacher is responsible for implementing the Grades 7–12 Spanish program at MVRCS. Instruction is aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum and methodology. At the high school level, teaching assignments may also include International Baccalaureate (IB) coursework as part of our rigorous, college-preparatory program. Key Responsibilities Teach five subject-area classes (daily), following documented curriculum and, when applicable, IB standards Deliver engaging lessons using Core Knowledge and IB methodology Set clear, measurable learning objectives and ensure lessons align with instructional goals Regularly assess student progress and provide timely reports, progress updates, and report cards Collaborate weekly with colleagues in the Languages Department, including the Department Chair, on curriculum, instruction, assessment, data analysis, and methodology Implement the school’s assertive discipline model with fidelity to maintain a structured, positive learning environment Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and department initiatives Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Assistant Director Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Spanish (required) Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write reports and correspondence clearly and effectively Ability to analyze information, define problems, collect data, and recommend solutions Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community Knowledge of school policies, state and federal laws, and applicable educational procedures Experience evaluating student performance and writing reports that interpret and summarize findings Strong collaboration, teaching, coaching, and leadership skills in a team setting Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities Content expertise and ability to design and implement lessons that meet diverse student needs and align with school objectives Successful completion of all required MTEL exams within one year of employment U.S. work authorization required Additional Information This is a full-time, school-year position reporting to the Languages Department Chair The position is subject to annual evaluation and appointment Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
