Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our Finance Team and support a variety of core Finance functions.This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented, proactive individual eager to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preparing accurate and timely monthly variable compensation calculations and payments for external advisors
• Maintain documentation around advisor compensation processes
• Investigate and resolve any commission-related issues or disputes
• Detect errors, omissions and inconsistencies in data
• Support development of business metrics and KPI’s
• Responsible for preparing journal entries and accruals ensuring accurate month end financial reporting
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, identify anomalies, investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial results
• Support external audits with required documentation
• Collaborate with team members within Finance and other business units
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, continually challenging the status quo

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
• 2-5 years work experience, preferably in a financial/insurance environment
• Proficient in Excel, experience in Power BI an asset
• Strong analytical and inquiry skills to understand operational processes and constraints
• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, and ability to multitask
• Ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships within Finance and across the organization
• CPA designation (or working towards it) is an asset
