Apparel Retail Store Associates Location Sicamous, BC :
Beach Chik & Island Time is a branded "Surf Shop" located in Sicamous, B.C. near beautiful Shuswap lake and we are currently in the process of hiring sales associates.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers
- Unload delivery truck, receive, open, and unpack merchandise and label merchandise with security tags within efficiency timeline goals
- Share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues, offering to help where needed to build a positive working environment
- Follow all procedures and routines regarding safety, security, and administrative processes in all areas of the store
- Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
- Manages financial transactions.
- Processes payments by totalling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit and debit cards.
- Alerts management of potential security issues.
- Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Support in the maintenance of a neat and tidy sales floor to ensure a positive shopping experience inclusive of folding, hanging, displaying and merchandising garments per BCIT guidelines to maximize selling opportunities
- General housekeeping
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer customers' questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Ensure racks are fully stocked
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
- Serves customers by helping them select products.
- Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
- Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
- Responds to customers' questions.
- Directs customers by escorting them to racks and counters.
- Provides outstanding customer service.
- Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records.
- Manages financial transactions.

Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- You have the ability to lift in excess of 20 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (totes, clothing, mannequins etc.) for a short distance
- Willing and able to climb a latter and use a step stool
- Inclusive, positive, creative and willing to learn on the job

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
