Job Summary

The Asian Studies program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for qualified instructors to be added to its existing Qualified Faculty List. Successful applicants will be added to a pool of qualified Non-regular Type 1 Contract Instructors to be called upon when sessional teaching opportunities arise. We invite applications from candidates whose expertise aligns with one or more of the courses on our list of offerings, and are particularly interested in candidates able to teach Religions of India. Candidates with a PhD will be preferred, but ABD will also be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with a track record of quality instruction at the post-secondary level as well as strong understanding of the value of and a demonstrated commitment to a broad liberal arts tradition in education. KPU offers both day and evening courses in three academic terms. Faculty of Arts courses are offered mainly at our Surrey, Richmond, and Langley campuses. Course delivery formats vary by department and include in-person, online, and blended (partially online) modes of instruction. A complete application includes a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of undergraduate teaching success (including sample course syllabi/outlines and sample of research/publication), copies of transcripts of all degrees, and a list of three professional referees able to comment on your teaching ability and academic accomplishments.
