Kollins Communications is looking for a motivated Audio-Visual Technician to join our Digital Services team in Ramsey, NJ! If you’re into tech, love solving hands-on problems, and want to work with the latest digital solutions, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Support and maintain audio-visual systems , digital signage , and point-of-sale systems for clients across the country.
• Help clients troubleshoot issues over the phone and guide them on maintenance and repairs for AV and digital signage setups.
• Learn and master Zendesk to track and manage customer service requests (don’t worry, we’ll train you!).
• Work alongside a team that includes our Chief Technology Officer , who’s ready to mentor and guide you.
• Occasionally travel and provide on-site support at retail and commercial locations .

What We’re Looking For:

• Tech-savvy : A solid understanding of AV systems and basic electrical knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple demands like a pro.
• Strong communication skills : Whether it’s in person, over the phone, or via email and text.
• Experience in audio/video signal flow , control systems , and troubleshooting AV and signage setups.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams , store layouts , and user manuals .

Qualifications & Skills:

• Familiarity with BrightSign media players , AV programming, and connectivity is a major plus.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in AV customer service , installation, or tech support.
• Previous commercial or residential AV installation experience is beneficial, but not required.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Extra Opportunities if Qualified:

• Travel nationwide to fix, repair, or install digital signage for our clients.
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site work.
• Be comfortable with physical work, including lifting up to 80 lbs , climbing ladders, or using hand tools like electric drills.
• Work independently or as part of a team, even with third-party installers in the field.

Who You Are:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Science , or a related field—or equivalent experience. We value experience just as much as formal education.
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude , always ready to jump in and wear multiple hats.
• Comfortable working with different types of people, whether it's teammates or clients.
