As a senior technical leader, the Medical Device Product Engineering Architect will lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of a variety of diagnostic and monitoring medical devices while ensuring adherence to technical and regulatory standards. The candidate is seeking a candidate with strong systems engineering skills and the ability to directly understand and interact with customer needs and challenges. The candidate will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions from requirements definition through product realization, fulfilling the role of product owner/system architect. In addition to core hardware/software expertise, the candidate will effectively manage all system elements and collaborate with offshore hardware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure customer satisfaction upon delivery. The candidate will also develop proposals to expand customer collaboration. Experience with kidney devices (dialysis) is a plus.

This position will also play an important role as a technical support point of contact (SPOC) for the client companies of major Japanese medical device manufacturers.

■ Requirements ■ Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, bilingual ability in Japanese and English
• Over 15 years of embedded software development experience
• Extensive knowledge of embedded C language and excellent analytical skills
• Experience in designing and developing embedded software using OS/RTOS/QNX on MCU/SoC
• Skilled in system architecture design, implementation, unit testing, verification, and validation
• Experience developing embedded software for sensor control and motor control
• Deep understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and USB
• Good understanding of OS concepts, multi-threaded applications, IPC mechanisms, scheduling, and memory management
• Basic hardware knowledge of board bring-up and diagnostics
• Experience with hardware debugging tools and interfaces such as JTAG and SWD
• Strong communication skills (Japanese and English) and experience working in a team
• Coordination with client and offshore development teams
• Technical guidance to the development team, mentoring engineers, and serving as a model for technical excellence

• Embedded GUI development experience
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines for medical product development (IEC62304 / IEC62366 / IEC60601-1-6 / ISO14971)
• More than 5 years of experience in embedded software development in the medical field
