Cyber Security Specialist- Cloud

Location: Canada , Remote

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive cloud security architectures and frameworks (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures across all cloud environments.
  • Conduct in-depth security assessments and reviews of cloud-native applications, infrastructure, and services, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies.
  • Drive the integration of security tools and practices into our CI/CD pipelines, promoting a "security-by-design" and DevSecOps culture.
  • Oversee and respond to cloud security incidents, leading investigations and implementing lessons learned to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to development and operations teams on secure cloud configurations and practices.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cloud security threats, technologies, and trends, recommending strategic improvements and innovations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Engineering, and Operations to embed security seamlessly into our cloud journey.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years specifically focused on cloud security in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Deep expertise in securing major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services. Multi-cloud experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with cloud security frameworks such as CSA CCM, NIST CSF, and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security tools including Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP), Identity and Access Management (IAM) in the cloud, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts within cloud environments (VPCs, subnets, security groups, network ACLs, transit gateways).
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform) for security orchestration and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical teams.
  • Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CCSP) are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
