Job Overview

The Data Input Clerk will enter statistical, social, and finalization information into the computer database HIFIS, spreadsheets, and other templates using data entry tools. The role will receive and register forms and records from community partners for data capture and contribute to the overall understanding of homelessness in Whitehorse.

Responsibilities

• Receive and register forms, records and other documents for data capture
• Input data into computerized databases, spreadsheets or other templates using a keyboard, mouse, or other data entry tools
• Import and/or export data between different kinds of software, such as the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS)
• Verify accuracy and completeness of data in the HIFIS database and in Microsoft Excel
• Identify, label and organize electronic storage media
• Maintain libraries of electronic storage media
• Post-secondary course work, degree or diploma in a relevant field such as administration, data management, statistics, social sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working directly with people experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability, municipal and federal government, non-government, and First Nation government stakeholders regarding data in Whitehorse.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working inputting data into the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS).

• Proficiency in the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS), Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel; experience using data visualization tools such as PowerBi an asset
• The submission of OCAP Certification
• Experience working with personal information in the Yukon, knowledge of territorial and federal privacy legislation.

Enter sensitive client information in an accurate, timely, and consistent manner with the support of Built for Zero Canada (BFZ-C) and as directed by the Reaching Home funding requirements.

When directed by CA Supervisor, work collaboratively with SAH team and community partners to ensure procedures related to data submission are accessible, appropriate, and rooted in best practices.

Under the direction of the CA Supervisor, work towards system improvements, ensuring minimum requirements for data submissions are always met.

Submit quarterly and annual reports to territorial and federal funding sources.

Assist the HIFIS Project Manager with the implementation and integration of HIFIS into current data practices.

Participate in role succession planning and adhere to organizational IT and privacy standards and procedures (i.e., storage, records retention, passwords, etc.).

Support the development and maintenance of a secure data environment, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of personal client information

Education and Experience

Qualifications

The submission of a Vulnerable Sector police check.

Standard First Aid Certification or willing to obtain upon hire.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Wage: $33/h
