Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to lead the planning, execution, and financial management of electrical construction projects while supporting the preparation of accurate cost estimates and competitive bids. This hybrid role is ideal for a professional who excels in both project delivery and estimating, combining strong technical knowledge of electrical systems with proven leadership and organizational skills.

The successful candidate will manage projects from estimation through completion and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. While maintaining strong client relationships and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical and automation projects, including material, labor, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to define project scope and requirements.
  • Obtain and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to support bid preparation.
  • Participate in tender reviews, proposal development, and project hand-off meetings.
  • Identify potential cost savings and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain estimating databases and monitor current pricing trends in the BC market.
  • Attend site visits and walk throughs as part of the estimating process.

Project Management

  • Lead all phases of project delivery: planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and reporting.
  • Oversee on-site execution, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to maintain project efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to align teams and address technical or schedule issues.
  • Track and report project progress, costs, and profitability to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with the BC Electrical Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and company health and safety policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and responsive service.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Electrician or degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical construction or automation, with demonstrated success in project management and estimating.
  • Experience in ICI sector an asset.
  • Strong understanding of BC Electrical Code and WorkSafeBC safety standards.
  • Proficiency in Accubid, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, distribution, and control systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for managing teams and clients.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
