We are looking for an estimator within water/sewer and Heavy Civil who would like to work with an amazing group. Responsibilities: - Review plans and specifications to determine scope of work and define project requirements.
- Outline and communicate project requirements and timelines.
- Review drawings and understand design intent.
- Liaise with clients, sub-contractors, approval authorities, project stakeholders and contractors.
- Solicit quotes and tendering contracts from consultants, trades people and suppliers.
- Issuing purchase orders, subcontracts and prepare construction schedules.
- Prepare quantity take-offs for labour, materials, equipment and sub-contractors.
- Quote contemplated changes notices and manage change orders.
- Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with manger and foreman to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Manage site instructions, RFI's and responses.
- Liaise with clients addressing any concerns.
Requirements: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience estimating or managing heavy civil construction projects and budgets.
- Degree in civil engineering or engineering tech.
- Exceptional communication skills and good industry exposure (earthworks, excavation, water/sewer, municipal work).
- Proven ability to communicate with clients, stakeholders and construction teams.
- Knowledge of municipal and provincial design standards.
- Experience with estimating and project management software.
- Experience with digital terrain and modeling software
- Skilled in cost estimating and specification writing.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
Technical Skills: - Experience with Auto Cad, and MS Office applications
