Klondike Institute of Art & Culture (KIAC) is seeking a Film Festival & Media Arts Manager based in Dawson City, Yukon to join our team.

Position Title: Film Festival & Media Arts Manager
Ideal Start Date: November 4, 2025 (flexible start date for the right candidate)
Duration: Permanent Seasonal Position ( October 1 - May 31, annually )
Work Hours: Average of 30 hours per week * (flexible work hours required, including some weekends and evenings)
Salary: $33,341 to $35,575 ($32.06 to $34.21 per hour ), based on a 30hr work week for an 8 month position annually, plus benefits.** Salary range based on experience
Location: Dawson City, Yukon

About the Position:

The Film Festival & Media Arts Manager produces the Dawson City International Short Film Festival and oversees other film and media programming. This hands-on role combines event production, artist support, community engagement, and technical oversight.

The successful candidate will coordinate festival submissions and screenings, organize workshops and special events, support local filmmaking initiatives (including the 48-Hour Film Challenge), and manage KIAC’s film equipment rentals and technical facilities. They will also lead fundraising efforts through grant writing, sponsorships, and merchandising.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience coordinating festivals, events, or arts programming.
• Knowledge of independent film and enthusiasm for engaging audiences.
• Comfort working with film/media equipment and presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to inclusive and community-focused arts programming.
• Strong organizational, budgeting, and grant-writing skills.
• This position requires residency in Dawson City, Yukon (relocation support not provided).

*Schedule:
The period of time leading up to, and immediately following, the Dawson City International Short Film Festival (Easter weekend) requires a heavier workload. Hours and schedule will be determined with the successful applicant. An example of an annual schedule that considers the workload shift of the position is:

• October - December: 3 days per week (22.5 hrs per week)
• January - February: 4 days per week (30 hrs per week)
• March - April: 5 days per week (37.5 hrs per week)
• May: 3 days per week (22.5hrs per week)

KIAC operates on a 4-day workweek (Tuesday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day). A 30-hour week is considered full-time. Film Festival & Media Arts Manager is generally expected to work regular office hours, however the role also requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends during events, programs, or meetings.
