<Job Description>

We want our students to discover that "It is great that we can use English!". We really care for our students and try to make sure that they will be able to use English with the help of our approach. The students age varies from 3 years old to high school students with the average number of students in a class being 4, and the max being 8 students. When teaching in very young students’ classes, you will work with a Japanese coordinator, using a team-teaching style. Teachers and Japanese coordinators make lesson plans together each day before lessons. Here at Nissait, we want to help raising global citizens, curious of the vast, open world we live in!

It's difficult to speak English outside of the comfortable classroom environment, but we believe our students are able to jump over that language barrier and go for it! Here is a small evidence. We take our students to Asakusa, when they interview some tourists from overseas. The video is only about 1 minute long, but it'll give you an idea of how our students learn communicative English. Maybe it's you who can help them to achieve their goals?

Working days are from Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday being your days off. You can take advantage of free Mondays, when Japan is not as crowdy as it is during the weekends!
On week days, most of the lessons are in the afternoon and evening. Teachers clock in between 12:00 and 14:00 to make lesson plans with a Japanese coordinator together. Usually lessons start at 15:00 and finish around 21:30 on weekdays. On Saturdays, teachers clock in around 8:00 in the morning and make lesson plans along with preparing for the day. The lessons start around 9:00 and finish around 17:30. The transportation fee is covered monthly and we offer sick days, too.

Nissait offers an attractive number of days off throughout the year, which you can use during the designated periods, when the school is shut (i.e. during the Summer and Winter Breaks). Despite the infamous overworking culture, often to be found in Japan, you will very rarely have to do any overtime!

Social insurance (health insurance, pension, and long-term care insurance)
Unemployment insurance and worker's accident compensation
Commuting Allowance: Available (up to 30,000 yen per month)
5 summer holidays and 5 winter holidays besides regular paid holidays
We'll help you to find an apartment if needed.

If employee wants to make more money, we offer you an online teaching job, aside of this job ad.
You can work from home using our curriculum as your flexible working shift. This is optional, but can be used accordingly to the teacher's financial needs. If you're interested, make sure to let us know during the interview!

Nissait English school was established in 1973, and since then, we have been seeking for a higher education for our students. At Nissait, we can offer you an opportunity to expand your teaching abilities through our school's environment and experience the lifestyle here in Japan. Our staff members are friendly and our schools have a warm, home-like feeling to them - which also means, that we don't require you wearing a suit while prancing with kids! Our school really cares how much each student can improve his/her English. If you just want to have fun with kids, our school is not for you, finding the right balance is essential - we'll be happy to guide you and help you to become the best teacher you can possibly be. In order to increase our efficiency in teaching, Nissait has a very unique teaching style of having a Japanese coordinator in the young students' classes. Japanese coordinators make lesson plans with the teachers together and in class, they demonstrate the activities to the students and reply to the teacher, so the students can understand quickly what is expected for them by observing a Japanese coordinator. This system makes it possible for students to learn how to speak and what to speak even though they come to school only once a week. I'm sure you will amazed to see their improvement. I'm sure the videos on the sites will prove it. We are a family-orientated school and we enjoy our company’s outings, too!

We can sponsor your Visa, so if you're currently abroad and you're fixed on the idea of moving to Japan, we can help you to make it happen! We take into account potential candidates from all over the world, not only the English-speaking countries. However, please take note, that your English level should be native-like.

Please apply with your resume, cover letter and a current photo. Please include the word "banana" (or use in a humorous way) in the cover letter. We'd like to have a teacher who is humorous. We want a teacher that wants to work at Nissait and not one that just applies to every job out there, so the applications without this word will not be considered. Video Introduction is strongly recommended, too! Only one vdeo introduction is fine.

Teaching experience is not necessary. However, you should be eager to learn new things and have a passion for teaching. If you meet these criteria, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. It's difficult to put everything into one add without making it obnoxiously long, so feel free to prepare any questions you have for us for the interview!

Priority consideration will be given to those who have completed the Video Interview.
We need one full-time teacher but we may need another semi-full time (4 days a week with Saturdays) teacher.

We hope to see you becoming the member of our team soon!

See you at Nissait!
