Job Description

Ulmer Contracting provides civil works and directional drilling services to the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley areasof BC. Located at 1050 Walls Avenue, Coquitlam, BC, V3K 2T7, we are recruiting a heavy equipment operatorsupervisor to join our team. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), year-round position. The salary is $38.00/hour.Extended health including dental, vision, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment benefits areavailable after successfully completing a three (3) month probationary period.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers who operate heavy equipment used for directional drilling
• Requisition materials and supplies
• Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
• Read blueprints and drawings
• Recommend personnel actions
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
• Train or arrange for training

Requirements and Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in lead hand/foreperson role and/or labor relations or a related field preferred.
• 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Deep knowledge of the Pipeline construction industry and processes
• Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to subcontractors, and workers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for providing clear instructions, explaining complex information toclients and workers, and discussing technical details with other building specialists.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
• Excellent organizational skills.
