About the Role:

Mechanical Engineering Designer. A market leader in MEP building services engineering is hiring for a Mechanical Engineering Designer. They support project portfolios for federal government, property managers, developers, large corporate clients. Designing and engineering mechanical building systems for new and existing buildings. They are a premium-positioned firm with a focus on quality, service, and repeat business.

The Mechanical Engineering Designer is a Work From Home role based in Ottawa. This position requires Reliability or Secret level security clearance, as this role will be supporting classified government projects.

Salary: $85 000 to $120 000

Office Policy: Work From Home

(Must be local to Ottawa for construction site visits in the local area)

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Carry out mechanical building systems design and engineering projects for multiple sectors (government, institutional, office, commercial, cultural and residential)
• Detailed design, coordination, verification and design of various mechanical building systems projects
• Ensure client satisfaction throughout projects
• Survey existing installations in the Ottawa area
• Analyze, design and adapt building-related installations
• Interdisciplinary coordination with external professionals
• Write specifications and technical reports
• Provide assistance in regards to site supervision

Here's what you'll need:

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-7+ years of experience in a consulting firm with building projects.
• Solid knowledge of Ontario/Canadian building codes, construction practices, and permitting processes.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
