Responsibilities

  • Own the performance of Exotec systems at client sites, ensuring optimal functionality and uptime.
  • Monitor and analyze site reliability, identifying trends and implementing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated issues from the Exotec Control Center, conducting thorough root cause analyses.
  • Serve as Level 2 escalation for non-core systems, including third-party conveyors and related equipment.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve interoperability challenges.
  • Plan and execute software and system updates to maintain site efficiency and stability.
  • Coach on-site technicians in partnership with site managers, promoting best practices to meet uptime targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement by proposing and supporting enhancements to maintenance procedures across North America and globally.
  • Engage with Exotec R&D and product teams to address specific maintenance concerns and contribute to product evolution.
  • Support client relationships by working closely with contract engineers and site managers to fulfill client requests, including preparing monthly performance reports.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of robotics maintenance experience, ideally in the industrial automation, materials handling, warehousing and/or logistics sectors
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering required
  • Fluency in Japanese
  • Broad knowledge on software, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with an enjoyment for solving problems, both big and small
  • Customer service mindset
  • Ability to collaborate with others as well as drive your own work
  • A comfort in communicating regularly with clients, contractors and suppliers
  • Travelling up to 60% to client sites across Japan & Korea
