Position Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) at PCRM Edmonton , you’ll play a key role in supporting our physicians and care team in delivering exceptional fertility and reproductive health services.

Your expertise will be integral in performing diagnostic procedures, counselling patients, and ensuring holistic, evidence-based care for individuals and couples on their fertility journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical assessments
  • Interpret patient data and determine appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic procedures
  • Provide ongoing care for patients with recurrent pregnancy loss
  • Manage consultations for urgent oncology fertility referrals
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including bloodwork (pre- and post-NPC) and lab results
  • Perform intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), as required
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop patient-centred treatment plans
  • Counsel and educate patients on reproductive health, fertility treatment options, and post-treatment care
  • Monitor early pregnancies using ultrasonography and lab evaluations
  • Maintain thorough patient documentation and ensure timely follow-up
  • Prepare referral letters and insurance documentation
  • Attend New Patient Consult (NPC) sessions and conduct third-party physical assessments
  • Provide physician coverage during absences
  • Participate in professional development and adhere to regulatory standards
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
  • Administer medications and injections as directed
  • Perform clinical procedures within NP scope of practice
  • Triage patient calls and provide consultations as appropriate

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program , preferably with a focus in women’s health
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience , ideally in women’s health, fertility, or OBGYN settings
  • Current CPR/BCLS/ACLS certification

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical safety, and patient care standards
  • Skilled in interpreting medical data and using diagnostic equipment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Collaborative team player with leadership capability and clinical independence
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and standard office software
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
