Finance Project Manager (4-month contract) – Toronto

Location: Toronto

Duration: 4 months

Pay Rate: $88.21/hr (T4 only)

A leading global organization is seeking a highly organized Finance Project Manager with strong experience leading Joint Venture, monetization, mergers, divestitures, and capital markets initiatives. This role requires a solid finance background (CPA strongly preferred) and proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional projects with precision and rigor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic finance projects impacting joint ventures.
• Drive execution of corporate development, refinancing, and capital markets initiatives.
• Set and maintain project governance, documentation standards, and tracking processes.
• Coordinate multi-workstream due diligence across finance, tax, legal, and operations.
• Maintain accountability with internal teams and external advisors.
• Build and manage detailed project plans, budgets, timelines, and risk registers.
• Oversee resource planning and allocation across multiple initiatives.
• Manage cutover activities to support seamless transaction close.
• Provide clear and consistent communication, including executive-level reporting .
• Apply PMP/PMI/PRINCE2 methodologies for structure, rigor, and consistency.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management in corporate development or capital markets .
• Proven experience managing projects in joint ventures, monetization, capital markets and divestitures
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Finance/accounting background before transitioning into project management (highly desirable).
• Experience with financial, tax, legal, and operational due diligence.
• Experience collaborating with investment banks, legal counsel, tax advisors, and consultants.
• Strong proficiency with PM tools (Smartsheets, MS Project, Jira).
• PMP/PRINCE2 (or equivalent) certification required.
