Autodesk Vault Implementation Specialist

Overview

CLIENT is seeking an experienced Autodesk Vault Professional Implementation Specialist for a 6-month contract engagement. The specialist will lead the on-premises implementation of Autodesk Vault Professional, ensuring the deployment follows best practices and includes user training and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Autodesk Vault administration, implementation, and integration within engineering or manufacturing environments, as well as experience developing and documenting workflows that improve data management and collaboration.

This role can be remote, though Ottawa-based candidates are preferred. A secure remote connection will be provided for out-of-town consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and configuration of Autodesk Vault Professional (on-prem), including installation, setup, and integration with existing CAD systems (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Define and apply best practices for data management, revision control, and user permissions.
• Develop and deliver user training sessions, documentation, and handover materials.
• Collaborate with internal IT, CAD, and engineering teams to ensure smooth deployment and minimal disruption to business operations.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Vault connectivity, performance, and user access.
• Advise on long-term maintenance, backup strategies, and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience implementing Autodesk Vault Professional (on-premise) environments.
• Strong understanding of Autodesk ecosystem integration (Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, etc.).
• Expertise in PDM/PLM best practices, workflow design, and data management.
• Solid grasp of Windows Server, SQL Server, and network configurations relevant to Vault setups.
• Experience conducting end-user training and producing detailed documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to work independently and remotely.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting government or large enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Vault API customization, scripting, or automation.
