Senior CNC Administrator - Projects

Position Description:

The position of Senior CNC Administrator is a Primary Technical role within the organization. The Senior CNC Administrator has primary responsibility for strategic CNC administration design, planning, execution, and support on EnterpriseOne projects. This role makes senior level decisions and coordinates activities within the Professional Services Delivery department. Must possess the ability to work in a highly diverse and integrated hardware / software / cloud environment. The position may involve being the secondary CNC administrator for one or more of the JDE EnterpriseOne customers.

Analyzes, tests, and implements EnterpriseOne CNC design supporting various Oracle and third-party business applications (including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines).

Provides a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application, and customer corporate entities to ensure effective environment management.

Participates as a proactive team member on EnterpriseOne projects. Provides technical implementation design, strategy, and documentation. Above all, ensures solutions meet business objectives and establishes and maintains a high level of user trust and confidence in Centrilogic’s knowledge of and concern for customers’ business needs. Has a willingness to work with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in a high-pressure, complex environment.

This position requires a high aptitude to accept complex assignments, analyze problems, provide effective solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction of service delivery.

This position reports to the Manager, JD Edwards Practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Participates on Professional and Managed Services teams as a Senior CNC administrator.
• Designs and implements EnterpriseOne solutions considering customer business requirements and applying the principles of scalability, recoverability, availability, and elasticity.
• Designs and implements technical implementation strategy taking into account customer timelines and requirements.
• Designs and implements administration practices regarding various routine administration activities for new customers.
• Recommends changes to administration practices followed for various customers keeping in mind the efficiency of the recommended best practices and customer satisfaction.
• Makes technical recommendations beyond the JDE application footprint and logical configuration that take into account the other layers of the computer stack like network, and virtualization. E.g., leveraging cloud and utility technologies where needed for production or business continuity.
• Works with and under general direction from senior management, CNC Team
• Leads Project Management and CNC Architecture personnel
• Establishes / recommends standard operating policies and procedures on system use and services.
• Provides technical leadership to CNC team members.
• Investigates and tests new EnterpriseOne tools features and functionalities to improve the availability a, scalability, and efficiency with which the systems processes.
• Identifies and addresses ticket issues that are identified as problem tickets.
• Provides Pre-Sales, Sales, and Marketing technical support as requested.
• Assures timely resolution to user and project issues based on published SLAs.
• Provides training to other CNC administrators and provides consultation to other CNC functions.
• Responsible for Installation / Configuration of third-party applications
• Provides cloud operations support for customers where self-provisioning is available
• Provides Level 2 database support when applicable.

Skills and Knowledge

• Develops and maintains strong working relationships across departments.
• Experience in designing and installing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne systems on premise and in the cloud.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, making presentations to customer audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.
• Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them.
• General understanding of all RDBMS platforms supported by EnterpriseOne.
• Solid understanding of all OS platforms supported by EnterpriseOne.
• Basic understanding of all application / database interfaces supported by EnterpriseOne.
• Strong understanding of EnterpriseOne Development and Object Management tools.
• Strong understanding of advanced features such as cloud architectures, high availability, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Able to configure and install all features and functionality needed to support large accounts.
• Works with vendors to solve complex issues related to system performance and enhancements.
• Experience performing data conversion from source to target RDBMS of JDE data.
• Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in IT’s knowledge of and concern for users’ business needs
• Ability to write clear proposals and technical documents

Working Conditions & Travel

• Has close working relationship with systems team and peers in other areas of IT.
• Works closely with Sr CNC Architect, RDBMS, and systems administrators.
• Has contact with application users, primarily in problem resolution.
• Has frequent interaction with application development staff as facilitator and client problem resolver; works collaboratively on such activities as performance problems, hardware / software upgrades, application program design reviews, new application setup and implementation, application workload growth prediction and measurement, etc.
• Is key participant in high-level technical strategy meetings, major upgrade decisions, capacity planning data collections, performance reporting, new application designing, etc.
• Has close working relationships with peers at external organizations
• CNCs will work remotely and must also be willing to travel to both local and non-local out-of-state clients. 10% minimum travel expectations.
• CNCs work a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones.
