Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager, Real Estate Strategy & Leasing to lead our national real estate portfolio with a strong focus on commercial leasing, real estate strategy, and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of real estate strategies across Canada, including lease negotiations, renewals, site selection, and portfolio optimization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with landlords, brokers, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure favorable lease terms and alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, occupancy costs, and space utilization to inform strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Finance and Legal to structure deals, manage deposits, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide executive-level insights and recommendations on real estate trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and development to direct reports and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align real estate initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Represent the real estate function in executive meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Oversee real estate-related capital projects including site build-outs, relocations, and renovations.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to define space needs and ensure efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage external vendors, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial real estate and leasing , ideally within a multi-site or national portfolio.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex lease agreements and managing landlord relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of real estate deal structures.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field; professional designations (e.g., CPM, RPA, CCIM) are an asset.
