The Role

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Server Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including cloud-based and on-premise servers. The ideal candidate should have expertise in AWS, dedicated servers, virtualization, and networking to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of our systems. This role requires a proactive individual with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage complex server environments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, manage, and optimize AWS instances, dedicated servers, and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Monitor server performance, ensure high availability, and conduct regular system audits.
• Configure and maintain Linux and Windows servers, including CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows Server.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud services including AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudFront, and Lambda.
• Administer and troubleshoot virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM).
• Implement firewall configurations, VPN setups, and access control policies.
• Conduct regular security assessments, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management.
• Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancers, and network firewalls.
• Manage and optimize MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Work closely with developers to deploy and maintain web applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Develop Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripts to automate server and network tasks.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for system-related issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks.

Ideal Profile

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Server Administrator, System Administrator, or Cloud Engineer.
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, IAM, Lambda, etc.).
• Experience managing dedicated servers, Linux/Windows servers, and cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewall management, and load balancing.
• Proficiency in database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
• Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, and disaster recovery strategies.
