- Job Details: General Notes The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated early career researcher for a one-year, full-time Research Associate I position. Researcher will work closely with Dr. Mahowald and other researchers in computational linguistics at UT Austin. The researcher will conduct research using AI to study human cognition, and using methods from cognitive science and linguistics to improve our understanding of AI models. The position is available to begin as soon as possible, preferably no later than September 15, 2025, and is expected to be 1 year in duration. The position carries an annual salary of $36,000 (plus benefits) 40 hours per week. This position is funded by federal NSF grant and is subject to availability of funding. Researcher must live within the City of Austin area. Purpose The purpose is to conduct computational research and help Dr. Mahowald and others in his group conduct research in computational linguistics. Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, linguistics, or a related field
  • Research experience in computational linguistics or computer science
