Senior Data Engineer (6-Month Contract, Remote)
Location: Remote – Anywhere in Canada or US

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer on behalf of a leading company in the energy and fuel distribution sector. This is a 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension or conversion to a permanent role.
You'll be part of a forward-thinking data team driving a major digital transformation initiative focused on optimizing global supply chain operations using data, AI, and cloud technologies.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Databricks, Delta Lake, and AWS
• Work with structured and unstructured data in both batch and streaming environments
• Design clean, well-modeled data products for analytics, reporting, and ML
• Implement robust data quality checks using Databricks Expectations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists and business stakeholders
• Support production ML workflows and real-time optimization efforts

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Proficient with Databricks, Python, SQL, PySpark, and AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda)
• Skilled in data modeling, performance tuning, and workflow orchestration
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and data governance frameworks
• Bonus: Experience with Kafka/Kinesis, Atlan/Unity Catalog, or working in the energy/logistics space
