Description

• Advising on data networks navigation systems acoustics acoustic data processing subsystem and towed array systems
• Providing training on navigation systems acoustic data processing subsystem and towed array systems to J-AOS personnel
• Submitting required reports in accordance with the SURTASS SOP and other directives
• Serving as a liaison with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Kure Repair and Supply Facility (K-RSF) and the Kure Array Maintenance Facility (AMF) in conjunction with Commander Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ) to help resolve repair and supply issues

Requirements

• Associates degree in computer science electronics technology or be a graduate of US Navy electronics C school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance troubleshooting and repair of:
  • VME computers digital computers microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment networks communications system navigation system and/or sonar system
• Must have experience as a SURTASS O&M Technician crew member
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 months
• Fluent in speaking writing and reading Japanese
