The Role

Fortis Construction Group Inc. is seeking to employ candidates in our (construction) field site residential division. The successful candidate will assist with various tasks on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, equipment operation support, and clean-up. This is a physically demanding role that requires strength, stamina, and attention to safety. Job Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist Site Superintendent on maintaining a clean and safe worksite
• Assist tradespeople and equipment operators on-site
• Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas
• Prepare and clean construction sites (e.g., remove debris, set up barricades, clean tools and equipment)
• Operate hand and power tools as required
• Prep, pour and finishing of concrete structures
• Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades
• Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations on the job site
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the project team

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in construction
• Ability to perform physical labour and lift heavy objects
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
