Location: 24 Colonnade Road, Ottawa ON

Schedule: Daytime, Monday to Friday

What you will be doing…Reporting to the Manager, Learning Centre, the Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant, and learner-centered training programs aligned with legislative and industry standards.

You will facilitate classroom based and virtual training sessions, guide learners through onboarding, internal systems, and support course design, administration, and learner evaluation. You'll also contribute subject matter expertise to improve course content and deliver training to internal teams and external clients.

Some of your responsibilities include…

• Deliver a wide range of training including security guard, supervisory, customer service, onboarding, and systems training
• Facilitate both in-person and virtual instruction, coach learners in blended and eLearning environments
• Contribute feedback and expertise to instructional designers and curriculum developers
• Develop and revise job aids, training materials, and evaluation tools
• Administer training records, attendance, testing, and course documentation using CEMS
• Track learner progress, coordinate logistics, and schedule sessions
• Liaise with Recruiting, Operations, and Divisional Training teams to ensure learner readiness
• Ensure all training meets regulatory, operational, and client-specific standards
• Deliver onboarding sessions and internal systems training to new hires
• Work on special projects and maintain current instructor certifications

You’re a good fit if you have…

• Ability to deliver training in both English and French
• Proven experience in virtual and classroom facilitation
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and learner engagement skills
• Ability to adapt delivery methods to meet learner needs
• Experience tracking training records and learner data
• Ability to contribute to content development and instructional feedback
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Advanced computer skills with tools such as Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), learning management systems (e.g., Moodle)

Your must-haves:

• College diploma in Training & Development, HR Management or relevant program, or combination of education and work experience in the field of adult learning
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills in
• CTP or CTDP designation is considered an asset
• Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods and techniques
• Certification in course design, delivery and evaluation or a combination of professional development and experience
• Experience or exposure to e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Moodle, Captivate, Articulate)
• Experience in the use of virtual online platforms and in person classroom to deliver training
• Security Guard experience considered an asset
• Use of Force experience considered an asset
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret Level Security Clearance
