Our state of the art centers are located in South Mississauga, Financial District of Toronto, and Corktown/Durand area of Hamilton. We offer comprehensive Outpatient services that focus on Assessment and Treatment/management for Addictions, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, ADHD, and more. Our clinics address diverse issues across various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.  

About the Role 

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced Acupuncturist who specializes in Mental Health. You will be working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Using acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques, you will help clients achieve emotional balance and enhance overall mental well-being.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, including therapists, dietitians, and naturopathic doctors, to provide a holistic approach to mental health treatment. Your work will play an essential role in helping clients achieve emotional stability and improve their quality of life through acupuncture-based interventions.

This role can be based out of our Hamilton or Mississauga office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their mental health needs and goals.
  • Provide acupuncture treatments tailored to address mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, and insomnia.
  • Use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques, including acupuncture, acupressure, and herbal recommendations, to support emotional and mental healing.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to treatment that addresses both mental and physical health.
  • Educate clients about the role of acupuncture in supporting mental health and promote self-care strategies.
  • Track progress and maintain detailed, confidential patient records in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in acupuncture and mental health treatments.
  • Support clients through their therapeutic journey, offering compassionate care and encouragement throughout their treatment process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Licensed Acupuncturist with current registration with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) .
  • Specialized training or significant experience in treating mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress.
  • Knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles and their application in treating mental health.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Passionate about providing holistic care and supporting mental health recovery.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate clients about the benefits of acupuncture for mental health.
  • Experience in or willingness to learn about incorporating complementary practices such as mindfulness or meditation into treatment plans is an asset.
