Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day site operations for residential construction projects, including both multi-family developments and single-family homes. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards while coordinating trades, maintaining schedules, and assisting with inspections and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing all phases of construction from site preparation to final walkthroughs
• Support scheduling of subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections to maintain project timelines
• Review plans and specifications to ensure work aligns with design and code requirements
• Monitor job site safety and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations
• Conduct daily site walkthroughs to assess progress, quality, and resolve issues proactively
• Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, inspection reports, and punch lists
• Coordinate with trades and suppliers across multiple units or homes to ensure smooth workflow
• Communicate effectively with site teams, project managers, and clients as needed
• Assist with quality control checks and ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly
• Support turnover and occupancy processes for completed units or homes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential construction, preferably in both multi-family and single-family projects
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
• WHMIS, First Aid, and Fall Protection certifications preferred
