Our client is a well-established demolition and abatement contractor with a strong presence across Ontario. They are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead their estimating department and support continued growth in complex demolition and abatement projects. This is a senior leadership role for a results-driven professional with extensive local experience.

Reporting to senior management, the Chief Estimator will be responsible for overseeing the full tendering and estimation process. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strong commercial acumen to produce competitive bids and manage complex projects.

Description

Chief Estimator - Demolition & Abatement

• Lead the end-to-end tender process from invitation to submission for self-performing demolition projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and scope review; complete bid forms and documentation.
• Conduct site visits, attend bid interviews, and maintain clear communication with clients.
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs with suppliers and clients.
• Maintain tender tracking, monitor submissions, and follow up with clients.
• Review production estimates with operations and provide strategic guidance.
• Mentor and develop junior estimators.
• Present bid opportunities and recommendations to senior management.

Profile

The ideal candidate will be a senior professional with deep local experience and strong leadership skills in demolition and abatement.

• Minimum 15 years of local experience in demolition and abatement.
• Civil Engineering degree required; P.Eng or PQS designation preferred.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle tenders for complex projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Concord, ON before starting.
