Head of FinanceLead the finance team of a prestigious legal firm and make a significant impact on its financial health. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Tokyo.About the companyOur client is a well-established and respected European law firm with a long history of success. They provide comprehensive legal and intellectual property services to a diverse international clientele and maintain close partnerships with firms in Germany and China. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive work environment.Role & ResponsibilitiesAs Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the overall financial health and strategic direction of the firm. You will lead a team of five finance professionals, guiding them in their daily tasks while providing strategic financial advice to the firm's leadership. You will play a key role in shaping the firm’s financial future and ensuring sustainable growth.Main tasks include- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.- Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure the firm's financial stability.- Oversee accounts receivable management and collections.- Manage tax compliance in conjunction with external tax advisors.- Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to the leadership team.- Develop and maintain financial department manuals and procedures.- Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.Requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance leadership role within a medium-sized company.- Proven experience in financial accounting, management accounting, and financial reporting.- Expert knowledge of Japanese accounting standards and tax regulations.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in Japanese and English (business level proficiency required).- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, equivalent) are preferred.- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and financial software is essential.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance leadership role within a medium-sized company.
Proven experience in financial accounting, management accounting, and financial reporting.
Expert knowledge of Japanese accounting standards and tax regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in Japanese and English (business level proficiency required).
Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, equivalent) are preferred.
