• Native-level proficiency in English
• Bachelor's degree (Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred)
• Valid Working Visa
• A love for working with children aged 0 to 6
• An energetic and engaging personality with strong communication skills
• Multi-tasker and attention to detail
• Ability to guide children in both structured and exploratory activities
• Experience as a Head Teacher in a kindergarten or preschool
• Reggio Emilia and/or Montessori experience is a plus
• Teaching Specialty a plus (math, science, art, cooking, etc.)
• TESOL/TEFL/CELTA/DELTA is a plus
• Marketing knowledge is a plus
• Currently residing in Japan

We are a cozy, at-home international school located in Setagaya Ward, offering a multi-age classroom environment where children can learn, play, and grow together.

Position: Full-Time (Part-time available)
Hours: 8:30-17:30 (depending on ability and availability)
Days: Monday - Friday (School events on a Saturday: annual calendar given ahead of time)
Saturday School (optional or part of contract)
Payment: 250,000 - 280,000 (depending on ability and qualifications)
Location: Setagaya; 10-15 minutes from all stations (Meidaimae, Matsubara, Higashi Matsubara, and Umegaoka)

Job Summary

As a Teacher, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the educational programs and operations of our international school. You will play a crucial role in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional development of our students. The Teacher will be responsible for planning lessons, delivering instructions, communicating effectively, and encouraging the growth and development of students in a classroom setting.

• Keeping the workplace clean
• Provide leadership in implementing the school’s mission, educational philosophy, and curriculum.
• Keeping up-to-date with current in-field research on early childhood education continually enhances the school’s educational programs.
• Lead and support daily learning activities across subjects such as math, science, literacy, and arts.
• Incorporate songs, music, and simple dances to support language development, rhythm, and coordination.
• Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate lessons that encourage curiosity, independence, and collaboration.
• Facilitate hands-on projects, including arts & crafts, science, and cooking.
• Observe and document children’s development and learning milestones
• Maintain a safe, clean, and emotionally supportive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and team members
• Support routines such as meal times, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
• Encourage an environment where children feel confident expressing themselves
• Collaborate in developing long-term curriculum goals and seasonal themes
• Picking up student(s) for After School
• Possibly potty training
