JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Outside Claims Adjuster to provide field adjusting and appraisal services within a designated territory. In this role, you will inspect vehicles, meet with customers, witnesses, and body shops to resolve physical damage claims efficiently and accurately. You will also occasionally conduct investigations to support claim resolution. This position requires strong interpersonal, adjusting, negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently.

The selected candidate will be hired as a temporary employee with potential for promotion to full-time employee with benefits upon meeting the expectations of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in reducing the average PD and Collision payments by inspecting vehicles & following approved estimating guidelines in completing estimates. Expected to handle complete claim files from beginning to end or assist with existing files. Settle claims in the field when necessary.
  • Use of alternative parts in the vehicle repair process according to industry and department standards
  • Utilize the AS400 & Network services to document information, send diaries, and complete & upload estimates in a timely manner. Display effective time management & reporting skills.
  • Appraisal accuracy based on re-inspections, audits & Ride-a-longs. This includes completion of vehicle condition reports for total losses and supplements within department standards
QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree is required unless candidate has a high school diploma and 4-5 years of applicable experience in this field.
  • Minimum 2 years of Personal Lines Auto adjusting and estimating
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of claims Best Practices and procedures.
  • Strong adjusting and negotiation skills.
