Senior Software Engineer, AI Model Serving - Osaka, Japan The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechifys products enable text-to-speech across PDFs, books, Google Docs, websites, and more, including its iOS app, Android App, Mac App, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Google named Speechify Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple named Speechify App of the Day. We are a fully distributed team of nearly 200 people, with no central office. Our team includes frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and leaders from companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. Our interview process involves several technical interviews and is aimed to complete within 1 week. Overview As Speechify expands, our AI team seeks a Senior Backend Engineer. This role is central to ensuring our infrastructure scales efficiently, optimizing key product flows, and constructing resilient end-to-end systems. What Youll Do State-of-the-art voice cloning Low latency and cost-effective text-to-speech An Ideal Candidate Should Have Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments. Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes. Preferred: Experience deploying NLP or TTS models to production.
